Gentle Giants Elephants is embarking on this thrilling new chapter! It marks the growth of our planted seed, it embodies the very essence of our wildest dreams for all our gentle beings, with continued support in Thailand and an electrifying new initiative in Africa!
While our dedication persists for the elephants in Thailand, envision tiny orphaned African gentle giants who are NOW in DESPERATE need of baby formula to live; transforming into the majestic beings they were destined to be. We're not merely guiding them; we're actively participating in their survival! With a commitment that knows no bounds, we'll nurture these gentle giants to strength, wisdom, and maturity. And when that day comes, they shall be RE-WILD, set free to revel in their true essence as magnificent elephants. They'll roam across the vast African savanna, sowing the seeds of their legacy.
In the future, as they stand face to face with their own progeny, a thriving circle of life in the African wilderness, let it be known that we, the GG Family played a pivotal role in their journey. We dared to step up in their time of need, and now, they're flourishing, wild, and free.
This is not just a new adventure; it's an epic tale of liberation, transformation, of spreading our growing wings and the enduring bond we share with these incredible beings in Africa.
November, 2023 - Gentle Giants Elephants joined hands with Wild is Life ZEN - A genuine wildlife & landscape conservation operation that rescues, rehabilitate & rewilds orphaned and injured African wildlife in Zimbabwe. Our goal is to help provide life sustaining milk to orphans and aid in rescue transport if neccessary.
As a supporter of Gentle Giants, you have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of those we help.
"Helping Animals. Healing Our Planet."
November 22, 2023 - Gentle Giants Elephants came together with Veterinarians International, to form an alliance, to aid in helping Africa's wildlife.
In honor of all of you, our amazing GG Family, and to kick off our new journey into Africa, we have donated the first surgical kit to Veterinarians International's mobile veterinarian clinic in Kenya. This is just one small, yet essential necessity it helping care for, and sustain Africa's wildlife, but we are absolutely thrilled to be able to play a small role in assisting VI in their mission.
"Your kindness and support enables us to empower veterinarians to carry out their remarkable work in saving animals, and healing the planet" ~ VI
VI's Mobile Veterinary Clinic in Kenya is not just providing medical care to animals, it will also provide opportunities for veterinary students to gain essential hands-on experience in responding to animal emergencies.
November 22, 2023 - Gentle Giants Elephants donated a motorbike to VI in Laikipia County to aid in animal emergencies.
"A short 5,000 miles (8,000+ km) away in Kenya, we've got some big news! The motorbike donated by our friends at Gentle Giants Elephants is ready to head out into the field to provide necessary care for animals who are harder to reach in larger vehicles."
"This new tool will be so critical to animal health in Laikipia County, an area remarkably rich in biodiversity, serving as a home to 95 species of mammals, 540 species of birds, 87 species of amphibians and reptiles, nearly 1,000 species of invertebrates, and an impressive count of over 700 plant species currently documented." ~ VI
A few words from Dr. Grace Watene, VI's Kenya Representative and Director of the Kenya Veterinary Training Program:
"First of all, it is very exciting to be part of this achievement! The Laikipia County Veterinary Department has been in critical need of transport means to help their veterinarians reach rural communities to render services to livestock and companion animals, so this motorbike will significantly improve both accessibility and response time.
Importantly, the bike is also more fuel efficient than a vehicle, hence cheaper to manage, as well as more versatile to maneuver through challenging terrain, where sometimes larger vehicles are unable to pass. The motorbike represents an opportunity for enhanced community engagement through door-to-door service, while also maintaining a smaller carbon footprint.
Overall, the motorbike will enable the Laikipia County Veterinary Department to have a cost-effective healthcare service that meets animals where they are, even in difficult to reach places."
