March 10, 2022 - Bai Toey arrived at ENP last night.
Our little one Bai Toey has already won the hearts of many. Mee Boo being one of those beautiful kind hearts has stepped up and taken Bai Toey under her wing.
Lovingly Mee Boon (who is blind) welcomed Bai Toey and stayed with her all night, comforting little Bai Toey. We can only imagine the conversation these 2 had. In the morning when it was time for Mee Boon to walk out of her shelter to start a brand new day, the doors opened but instead of leaving, she choose to stay with Bai Toey. She didn't want to leave the little one alone.
Compassion, kindness and empathy poured out of her heart, helping Bai Toey understand that she is here to heal and that we will do everything in our power to make the nightmares go away.
We humans have so much to learn from these majestic ones!

Bay Toey & Mee Boon Match Made in Heaven!
We can't erase the horrors from the post but we can help heal their present and their future! Bai Toey's heart is healing and helping to heal Mee Boon from what happened in the past.
Since day 1 Mee Boon has taken baby girl Bai Toey as her own. Giving her the love and support Bai Toey needed to start to blossom. In exchange, Bai Toey gives Mee Boon the love she always dreamed of but never knew....
Kindness, love and compassion makes the heart shine with happiness! This is what we work to see in our gentle ones each and every day!
For those who don't know Bai Toey story. This little girl was taken from her mother at the tender age at of 10 months to become a begging baby slave. Almost 2 years ago she joined GG, she was doing very well for the first year and then started to decline. We became concerned and worked hard with our partner and friend to find out what was happening, we came to know she was being force bred.
Thankfully we were able to negotiate Bai Toey be moved to ENP.
The gentle giants family came together to raise the funds make the move a possibility.

UPDATE: We are overjoyed to have exceeded our initial goal to move Bai Toey to Elephant Nature Park. We were asking for the bare minimum for the move. Any and all further donations will go directly to her long term care. We do not know yet exactly what type of medical, nutritional, etc she is going to need to receive. So any and all continued donations are greatly appreciated. Thank You!
WE ONLY HAVE 6 DAYS TO RAISE FUNDS.
We have the opportunity to save our precious Bai Toey and have her brought to Elephant Nature Park to live a new life. We need to raise $19,500 USD to cover government permits/paperwork, transportation (truck, fuel, driver, etc), medical staff (including a veterinarian), medical supplies, a mahout, meals for Bai Toey and rescue crew, her shelter at ENP and at least one month of nutritional supplements.
Bai-Toey is a 11 year old Asian female, who was separated from mother when she was only 10 months old. She was very small and malnourished. She had to be hand fed boiled rice with milk. Bai Toey was sick a lot and had to be seen by a veterinarian often. This condition continues today. We have sent her nutritional supplements, riceballs and the veterinarian has examined her and run many tests several times with no conclusive answers.
Bai Toey was a street begging elephant, but it is thought that she was also used as a breeding elephant; force bred from a very young age (no babies that we are aware of). This is common practice and we have several very young mothers under our care. The physical and psychological trauma has proven to be way too much for her spirit and soul. Everyday she fights the will to go on living.
